Myles Cabot, an electrical engineer, is accidentally transported to the planet Venus while conducting a scientific experiment in the film An Earth Man on Venus. He finds himself caught in the centre of a conflict between a species of enormous intelligent ants and an oppressed humanoid race. An Earth Man on Venus was first serialized in the Argosy pulp magazine on June 28, 1924, under the title The Radio Man. Robert Sherman Hoar, a great-great-grandson of American founding father and Declaration of Independence signer Roger Sherman and an accomplished politician in his own right, used the pen name, Ralph Milne Farley. Hoar served as a state legislator and assistant attorney general in Massachusetts and was an influential figure in the Democratic Party on matters ranging from voting to constitutional and patent law. Hoar also contributed to various magazines, including Amazing Stories, American Mercury, and Scientific American, and was given the editorship of Amazing Stories in 1938. When he declined, Raymond A. Palmer, a fellow Milwaukee Fictioneers member and publishing legend, took over as editor.

Fantasy Publishing Company collected The Radio Man in 1948, a year before Avon Periodicals released this 1951 comic book adaption with a Gene Fawcette cover. Collectors will be drawn to this rendition of Hoar’s science fiction classic because of the artwork by the famous Wally Wood.
