NBA Trade Deadline

The NBA trade deadline is approaching quite fast as it will end on 23rd of February. So teams that want to make a trade need to act quick as they will not be able to make a trade after this until next season. While there have quite a few trades I will discuss a few of the most recent trades that have happened in the past weeks.

Last Week 3 trades happened.

Denver traded Jusuf Nurkick and a 2017 first-round draft pick to Portland for Mason Plumlee, a 2018 second-round draft pick and cash.
This trade is a smaller trade out of some of the recent trades but it was actually something that benefited Portland a little more than Denver. While Denver have a talented centre in Nikola Jokic and forwards in Chandler, Faried and Gallinari, Plumlee is not really needed unless injury happens to occur. While he does get playing time in Denver it is not too much that is significant as most of the other bigger guys have a bigger role in the rotation. For Portland Jusuf Nurkick was a good pick up and will be a part of the rotation. He played well in his first game in Portland but lets see if he continues to succeed after the all-star break.

Cleveland traded Chris Andersen and cash to Charlotte for a protected 2017 second-round draft pick.
This trade is the smallest out of all the recent trades and is not too significant for either team.

Toronto traded Terrence Ross and a 2017 first-round draft pick to Orlando fro Serge Ibaka.
This trade is quite significant and Toronto got the better deal. While Ross is a good player Ibaka is a much better player and good enough to help make a difference in a team. While both players will be their teams rotation I do believe Ibaka will make a huge difference and give the help that Lowry and DeRozan need in order for Toronto to continue the success they have been having and push them far in the playoffs. The pick Orlando received is not that significant as Toronto are a top team in the East and their pick will be closer to the end.

This week is the final week and many trades have happened as the deadline is approaching to an end. One of the biggest trades that exploded on the web and is the most significant of all trades that have happened. This trade was done during/after the all-star game.

cousins-new-orleans

New Orleans traded Buddy Hield, Langston Galloway, Tyreke Evans, 2017 first-round and second-round draft picks to Sacramento for DeMarcus Cousins and Omri Casspi.
This trade went crazy all over the internet. Lots of people having different opinions about this trade. Some feeling it might not work for New Orleans, or New Orleans gave up too much. Others thinking that Sacramento got too little, or was silly to trade away their superstar. While everyone is entitled to their own opinion I think this trade benefits New Orleans a lot. Omri Casspi is a great shooter and good scoring option off the bench but the biggest deal of the trade was DeMarcus Cousins and he is teaming up with Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday and it will make this team a whole lot better and even increase their chances of making it into the playoffs. If everything works out this team will be scary as it has two of the best big men in the league. While Cousins has had some trouble in Sacramento this season picking up around 17 technical fouls I would think that New Orleans will be able to help him a little to try and change that. A risk of this trade that New Orleans may face is that Cousins may not choose to re-sign with them after his contract expires. Lets hope for New Orleans sake that they can re-sign him.

Other trades were

Lakers traded Lou Williams to Houston for Corey Brewer and a future draft pick.
I think this is a very even trade. Houston picked up a solid guard that will provide good scoring off the bench. Lakers received a solid forward and a future draft pick to help them in the continuing of their rebuilding phase. Both players will be apart of each others rotation While Houston is already a very good team, Lakers will be a good team again in a few years to come.

Brooklyn traded Bojan Bogdanovic and Chris McCullough to Washington for Andrew Nicholson, Marcus Thorton and a 2017 protected first-round draft pick.
Wizards got the better deal from this trade. Wizards received Brooklyn’s best small forward in Bogdanovic. He will greatly help Washington reducing the load off John Wall and Bradley Beal. He is a great pickup and if he is not starting he will still get a lot of minutes off the bench. Brooklyn did receive some role players and while they may help Brooklyn a little I do not expect these players to help them greatly improve on their record.

Philadelphia traded Ersan Ilyasova to Altanta for Tiago Splitter and 2017 protected second-round draft pick.
This trade also involved both teams swapping 2017 second-round picks with each other. Atlanta got the better trade in terms of the player. Ilyasova is a good player and will help Atlanta in the front court. He should get some regular minutes in Atlanta. Philadelphia on the other hand has a lot of centres and Splitter is another centre who has problems with injuries. Hopefully Philadelphia has a plan because there is no need to have so many centres on the same team.

While the trade deadline is near I am sure there will be some last minute trades that will happen. If you want to hear more about sports or games please follow my page.

NBA All-Star Predictions

The NBA All-Star Weekend is going to start tomorrow in New Orleans. It is really entertaining to watch and many people even if you are not a complete basketball fan enjoy watching it. With each event that is happening over the weekend I will give you a prediction on who I think will win. You should tune in over the weekend and watch the All-Star game, you will enjoy it. So here are my predictions:

For Friday:
The NBA All-Star Celebrity Game – This is the first game to start the NBA All-Star weekend. It consists of celebrities from film, music, television and sports. This is hard to predict due to being a range of different celebrities from different areas. So I will not be predicting this as it is hard to predict.

BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge – This is where it is the battle of the newer players in the NBA. It will consist of 10 first year and 10 second year players for the U.S team and the World Team. Based on the rosters my prediction is: Team World led by Kristaps Porzingis to win over Team U.S. It will definitely be a fun and interesting matchup with the younger guys in the league. It will be a close game as both rosters have some solid players.

For Saturday:
Taco Bell Skills Challenge – This consists of 4 big guys and 4 small guys and they are competing to determine who has the best skills. Out of the 8 contestants I will predict guard John Wall to win. While there are great bigs and other smaller guys I think John Wall will end up coming on top.

JBL Three-Point Contest – Out of the 8 players in the three point contest my prediction is the defending champion of last year Klay Thompson. He is the most consistent especially when open at 3 point shoots compared to his competition although it is a very tough competition he has to compete against.

Verizon Slam Dunk – Out of the 4 players in the slam dunk contest it will be a close call between last years runner up Aaron Gordon and DeAndre Jordan. But my prediction is DeAndre Jordan. I believe he will come up with sweet moves which will blow the judges away.

For Sunday:
66th NBA All-Star Game – This is the game many people enjoy and will watch and out of all the previous game the west has always been the stronger team and as it shows from the standings the west has stronger teams with great players and therefore my prediction for this year is the West to win this years All-Star game. It will be very entertaining to watch and I cannot wait.

5 Ways To Avoid Getting Injured When Playing Sport

In sports, injury can be very common and it is terrible when someone gets injured as it can cause a lot of pain. For athletes forced inactivity with the sport they play can get boring and is something many want to avoid. But injury does happen sometimes and you cannot help it. But there are things that you can do to reduce the risk or avoid getting injured when playing sport. Here are 5 ways to avoid getting injured:

1. Wear Appropriate Protective Gear

Wearing appropriate gear is very important in avoiding or reducing the chances of getting injured. In certain games you need to have appropriate gear that is required to play the game. Wearing mouth guards, helmets or head gear, knee pads, gloves, appropriate footwear and other protective gear in contact sports is the best way to reduce your chances of getting injured.

2. Stretch And Warm Up Before Playing The Game

Stretching and warming up your muscles are extremely important before playing sport. Getting them loose helps you when you actually play the sport or doing any exercise as it reduces the risk of spraining or straining any muscles. Doing specific stretches that uses the muscles you will use in the sport is great and definitely one of the best ways to prevent getting an injury.

3. Know The Rules Of The Game

The rules of the game are created and designed to keep things very safe so nothing bad does happen. If you know the rules of the game and follow these rules it will help you avoid getting injured when playing sport. You should respect these rules and illegal moves otherwise you can be penalised by coaches or referees. These rules are designed to help keep the athletes healthy.

4. Be In Good Physical Condition For Sport

Being in good physical condition for sport is a must if you want to avoid injury from occurring. You should be training for that sport and it is silly if thinking that by playing this sport you are getting fit. You should be fit and in the right physical condition to play the sport and this will definitely help preventing you for getting an injury.

5. Do Not Play If Injured Or In Pain

Some athletes think it is ok to play through an injury or if they are in pain, but this is the worst thing for any athlete to do. If you have an injury already or are experiencing pain you should not be plaything through it. You should rest and be fully recovered before playing again. If you do play through injury or when experiencing pain it will injure you even more and it will be harder to recover from the injury. You should never play if you are injured or if suffering from pain.

5 NBA Teams That Should Make A Trade Before The Deadline

cp-nba-trade-deadline

The NBA trade deadline is nearing as it is on the 23rd of February 2017. This is the time where the General Managers of each team try and discuss trades for players they believe will help their team. Here are 5 teams that I think should make a trade before the deadline.

1. Chicago Bulls
The Chicago Bulls have had a disappointing season. While they are not doing terrible they are not doing good as people may have expected them to do before the season started. They have been inconsistent and are hanging around the 7th-8th spot in the Eastern Conference. With the signings of Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo at the beginning of the season many thought they would be a top team in the East. There has been some problems between the Bulls management staff and Rondo. So this team should make a trade to help the team play more consistent and increase there chances of staying in the top 8. Being unsure if another team will take on Rondo, the Bulls could possibly trade Gibson which can give them a good player in return and can help them be more consistent.

2. New York Knicks
The New York Knicks have been a very inconsistent team throughout the whole season. While they have a roster that is very different than last year with new additions in the backcourt of Derrick Rose, Courtney Lee and Brandon Jennings things have not seemed to work too well with the team. Rose with his injury history and Lee and Jennings being inconsistent is not helping them as they are currently sitting out of the top 8 in the Eastern Conference. The Knicks should consider trading for another guard to help them bolster up their backcourt which can make them a more consistent team and make a playoff push.

3. New Orleans Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelicans are a team that is struggling in the Western Conference. With them around 3.5 games away from 8th spot. They need another player which can help Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday in order to make a playoff push. After signing some decent defensive players in free agency and the addition of rookie Buddy Hield it hasn’t helped the team too much overall. With coach Alvin Gentry now using a small ball lineup the Pelicans can consider trading either Omer Asik or Alexis Ajinca as neither of these big men are getting playing time in a small ball lineup. While Asik is harder to trade due to his large contract, Ajinca is the best option for the Pelicans to trade.

4. Phoenix Suns
Phoenix Suns are a team that is struggling and currently at the bottom of the Western Conference. With too many guards on the team it is hard for everyone getting an even spread of minutes. With Devin Booker and Eric Bledsoe doing a good job as the starting backcourt, the best player for them to trade is Brandon Knight as they will get the best return from him out of the other remaining guards that are on the bench. With Knight being on another team his playing time will increase and the Suns will also benefit from this.

5. Philadelphia 76ers
Philadelphia 76ers have improved a lot more this season due to Joel Embiid now being healthy and available. But there are too many big men and its hard to find an even amount of playing time for each. The 76ers should consider either trading Jahlil Okafor or Nerlens Noel as they there is not much need for keeping all 3 of them. Both the 76ers and either big men will benefit from this. For 76ers trading one of the big men they can get a guard or a first round draft pick in return and for either Okafor or Noel they will have an increase in playing time in another team that needs help in the front court.

NFL Super Bowl Results 2016-17 Season

Hi all NFL fans,

As most of you know the Super Bowl for the NFL this season have recently finished. The final result being the New England Patriots winning the Super Bowl against the Atlanta Falcons 34-28. It was a very exciting game. The game after four quarters ended up in a tie of 28 all, taking the game to overtime to determine the winner and it was the New England Patriots who ended up being the champions of this season. During the pepsi half time show it was Lady Gaga doing a live performance. She is a good entertainer so I am sure many of the fans either watching it live or on tv enjoyed her performance.

The New England Patriots have won their 5th Super Bowl championships.
The Super Bowl MVP was Tom Brady from the New England Patriots and he had a very incredible stat line. He is a 5 time Super Bowl champion and his stats for this final game was 43 completed passes out of his 62 attempts which he gained 466 yards and he had 2 passing touchdowns and 1 interception thrown. He has had a great season to go along with his amazing career.

For the Atlanta Falcons their quarter back Matt Ryan didn’t do to bad himself. He had 17 completed passes out of 23 attempts which he gained 284 yards and he had 2 passing touchdowns.

It was a very good and entertaining NFL season this year with many exciting regular season games and playoff games. Congratulations to the New England Patriots for winning their 5th Super Bowl which I am sure the Patriot fans were extremely happy about.

The 2017-18 NFL season will take place on September the 7th 2017 so hope you all will tune in for the next season as I am sure it will be just as entertaining as last season. I cannot wait for next season to start and to find out who will be the next Super Bowl champions.

Game Review (Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare)

Hi everyone,

Today I will be reviewing the game Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. If you like action and shooting games then you should check this game out.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare:
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is a pretty good game. While I think some of the previous call of duty games were better than this one, it still is a fun game and I do enjoy it. There are many things you can do, like previous games there is a campaign mode which is always enjoyable, there is also online and then there is and local play where you can play with friends or family with two different modes. You can do a regular multiplayer local play or zombies. Firstly the campaign I do like. It is fun but it is different to the previous games. This campaign you are a part of the United Nations Space Alliance (UNSA) Navy pilot and you get promoted to caption of the starship when the captain of starship previously gets removed by the Settlement Defence Front (SDF). Campaign is usually my favourite thing to play and it does get addictive. Now online is big with many call of duty fans but I personally do not like playing call of duty online that much. It is a great feature though and it is very entertaining to many. Local play is great! I love playing multiplayer on local play but some maps are not the best as they are quite big and hard to find opponents so its best to play on the smaller maps. This is great if you want to play against your friends or family. Then there is zombies which is fun but I prefer multiplayer then this mode. In zombies you play either by yourself or with someone else and you buy a gun in the mode and fight of zombies and protecting the windows that they can come through. It is better to play with 3 or 4 people because it does get quite hard. I do like this game and if you are a call of duty fan you should get it too. There is a mix of different opinions with this game either being worse or better than the previous games from many call of duty fans. But the only way to decide if you like it or not is for you to get it and play yourself.
IGN Rating: 7.7/10
My Rating: 8/10
